Q: How does the HSDPA coverage look?
A: You get nationwide coverage
Q: Does HSDPA allow for international roaming?
A: Yes
Q: How fast is HSDPA?
A: Under ideal conditions you can get speeds of up to 1.8 mbps, but on average you will get speeds of between 400 kbps and 800 kbps.
Q: What is 3.6 HSDPA?
A: The HSDPA 3.6 service allows you to enjoy download speeds of up to
3.6 mbps in Vodacom HSDPA coverage areas.
Q: What do I need to get started?
A: You need to be in an HSDPA coverage area, and you need a HSDPA data package (includes your modem and data SIM on a 24 month contract)
Q: What happens if I reach my data limit?
A: You have 2 options:
- All packages are activated with Pay-Per-use, which means that when you deplete your monthly data bundle you will automatically be billed per MB thereafter.
- To save money you can also buy a Bolt On (Bandwidth Booster), which allows you to buy bundles of extra bandwidth for less.
Q: Does my unused data carry over to the next month?
A: On your monthly allocated data bundles - Yes.
HSDPA bandwidth boosters expire 30 days from date of purchase.
Q: What does Pay-per-use data cost?
A:
- My MEG 500 and My GIG One subscribers will pay R1,20 per MB
- My GIG Two, Five and Ten subscribers will pay R1,00 per MB
Q: What if I am not covered in the 3G / HSDPA network?
A:When 3G HSDPA is not available you will be able to connect via Vodacom's 3G, EDGE or GPRS networks
