iBurst
Q: Where can I use my iBurst?
A: You can use it anywhere in an iBurst coverage area.
Q: How does the speed work that I can expect?
A: We need your address and suburb where you will use your iburst the most; we check your coverage and can advise according to your coverage what speed you will be able to expect.
Q: Now how do the areas and the speed work exactly?
A: If you are in a “Best” area – your speeds will be up to 1Mbps download, if you are in “Great” area – your speed will be up to 500Kbps, if you are in a “Good” area – your speeds will be up to 300 Kbps, if you are in a “Fair” area – your speeds will be up to 100Kbps, if you are in a “Poor” area – your speeds will be up to 50Kbps. We generally advise you not to take iBurst if your coverage is Poor.
Q: If I am in example a Fair area, is there any way that I can improve my speed?
A: Yes, if there is a Good area close to you, you can buy an antenna, which will strengthen your speed so that you can “draw” the good coverage
Q: Is there anything that can affect my reception?
A: Yes - buildings, structures etc can affect your reception
Q; What happens if I don’t use all my data in a specific month?
A: It will be carried over to the next month.
Q: What options do I have with regards to contracts?
A: You can either go on a month-to-month option (where you buy the modem upfront) or you can go on a 24 month contract (where you get your modem included)
Q: How long will it take to get me activated?
A: If we receive your completed and signed application form, together with all supporting documentation, we can get you connected in 48 hours.
Q: What will happen if I reach my data limit?
A: Once your cap has been reached, you will be presented with an online screen. The screen will allow you to choose whether to remain capped (without access to the internet) or purchase a bandwidth booster at the applicable rate.
Once capped, you will still have access to the iBurst website in order to purchase bandwidth boosters.
Q: What are the rules of the Data Carry over?
A: Unused portion of Data Boosters that are purchased will only expire at the end of the next month in which you purchased the booster. Ex: If a you purchase a Booster on the 18th of November and only use 200MB, the remaining 800MB will be available for use in December. Should you still fail to utilize this, then the data remaining on this Booster will expire.
You are able to carry over a maximum of twice your allocated monthly quotas on iBurst Wireless. Ex. If a subscriber has a 1Gig package starting 1st November and (s)he has 200Mb remaining at the end of November, the subscriber will then have 1.2Gig available on the 1st December. If the subscriber does not use 1.1Gig in December (off the 1.2Gig), (s)he will then only have 2Gig available on 01 January.
Q: What is a bandwidth booster?
A: When you have reached your cap, bandwidth boosters allow you to buy bulk bundles of additional data for less
Q: How do I check how much data have I used?
A: You will be able to monitor your usage online and can also choose to receive daily bandwidth usage emails
